Sweden stretches far enough north that the country works differently depending on latitude. Stockholm sits on an archipelago of thousands of islands, Gothenburg and Malmö anchor the west and south coasts, and the Arctic north operates on its own calendar of midnight sun and polar night.
The guides here cover Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Uppsala and a countrywide overview. Summer is short and intensely used — archipelago boats, outdoor swimming and long evenings all belong to June through August. Winter is dark in the south and darker still further north, though museums and design-heavy city life carry the season. Malmö connects to Copenhagen by bridge in about forty minutes, which makes combining the two straightforward.
