Cambodia is defined for most visitors by Angkor, the temple complex outside Siem Reap that covers hundreds of square kilometres and takes days rather than hours to see properly. Phnom Penh holds the royal palace and the sites documenting the Khmer Rouge period, and the southern coast has beaches and islands.

Angkor passes are sold for one, three or seven days and checked at each temple. Heat and sun exposure at the temples are significant, and early starts are standard practice.
