Top attractions in Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is a principality of about 160 square kilometres between Switzerland and Austria, wedged between the Rhine and the Alps. Vaduz, the capital, holds the castle above town, the national museum and the art gallery; beyond it the country is villages, vineyards and mountain trails leading up to Malbun.

The guides here cover Liechtenstein as a whole. There is no airport and no border control from Switzerland — buses from Sargans or Buchs do the work, and the Swiss franc is the currency. Most visitors come for a few hours, though the hiking network above Triesenberg and the small ski area at Malbun justify longer stays in the right season.
