Anapa Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on Cape Anapa, where the walking area ends. From the platform located around it, a panoramic view of the mountains of the Greater Caucasus and the Utrish Peninsula opens. The building was built in 1955 to replace the signal tower of 1909, which was blown up by German troops during the Second World War. The height of the lighthouse reaches 43 meters, the searchlight range is 18.5 miles. In addition to its practical function, it also plays the role of a city landmark.

The main pedestrian alley of the resort, stretching from the seaport and the mouth of the Anapka River. The central part of the embankment was landscaped in 2002. As in all coastal cities, the promenade is the center of holiday life. There are cafes, hotels, attractions, entertainment facilities. The walking area is decorated with flower beds, lanterns, landscape sculptures and lined with paving stones.

The complex of five cascades is located near the city administration building. It consists of stone bowls arranged one after another. The diameter of the largest (main fountain) is more than 20 meters. If you catch a good angle, then during the color-musical performance you can capture the entire ensemble at once. An open-air archaeological park-museum, organized at the site of the excavations of the ancient colony of Gorgippia. This settlement was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. The total area of ​​the ruins is about 2 hectares. Among them, you can see the foundations of residential buildings, cellars of wineries, fragments of a defensive wall and sections of paved streets. Also exhibited here are objects found during excavations: parts of temple columns, pieces of mosaics, sarcophagi, tombstones.

An Orthodox church built in the 1830s at the behest of Nicholas I. Construction began almost immediately after the city was liberated from Turkish rule. In 1991, after decades of desolation, the temple was consecrated in honor of Onuphrius the Great.

The lake is located on the outskirts of the village of Sukko. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that swamp cypresses grow right out of the water. This species is not found anywhere else in Russia, its homeland of origin is North America. Perhaps they were brought to the Black Sea coast in the 1930s as an experiment, and they took root on local soil. In any case, the spectacle is quite unusual and atypical for Russian expanses.

A protected natural area covering an area of ​​more than 5 hectares. It covers wild beaches, picturesque lagoons, groves of juniper and pistachio trees, coastal cliffs.
